This number varies quite a bit depending on how and when the audit is run. In general this should be mostly above 90%. Sometimes a page may contain content or applications that makes this unachievable. In this case it should be above 80%. In no case should a landing page or your home page be below 90%. If that is the case make the user click a link to get to the more complicated content.

If this value is not 100%, you may be opening your self up for a lawsuit because your site is not ADA compliant. In addition you may be missing some potential visitors. WARNING, this is not the only criteria that will make a web site ADA compliant but if it doesn't pass this test it's definitely not compliant. A score below 100% is unacceptable.

If this value is not 100% your site is coded wrong from a technical point of view. Your site may not render properly on some modern browsers. The tools used by handicapped visitors may fail. This is the test that insures your site is technically valid with web standard. A score below 100% is unacceptable.
